Assistant Instructor/Open Water Scuba Instructor

PADI, the world’s largest diver-training organization has developed innovative training tools and educational opportunities for achieving Professional ratings. “The” Dive Shop provides the professional staff, positive environment, and potential employment opportunities. An Instructor Development Course (IDC) has three components, the Assistant Instructor Course, The Open Water SCUBA Instructor Course (OWSI) and the Instructor Examination (IE).

Our focus is not only on training canidates to pass the IE, but also develop your individual talents to become a competent, confident and successful instructor for today's diving environment. Upon completion of "The" Dive Shop's Instructor Development Course, You will be equipped with an excellent understanding of the diving industry, scuba course promotional techniques, progressive instructional methods, as well as state of the art diving information.

Our programs also include Oxygen Provider Specialty Instructor and Emergency First Responder Instructor at no additional charge. The initial portion of the IDC academics will be online and completed, at your leisure prior, to starting the Instructor led sections. Remembering that everyone begins this sport for fun, we endeavor to make the programs as enjoyable as possible for the candidates and staff alike. A member of our teaching staff will attend your Instructor Examination, if taken locally, to offer you moral support and guidance.
